Time Off Benefits & Resources
Sick Leave
If the employee has sick leave available, it may be used in the following circumstances:
- When the employee has a mental illness or a physical illness or injury (not covered by workers’ compensation), or health condition; needs a medical diagnosis, care, or treatment related to such illness, injury, or condition; or needs to obtain preventive medical care.
- When the employee needs to care for a family member who has a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; needs a medical diagnosis, care, or treatment related to such illness, injury, or condition; or needs to obtain preventive medical care.
FAMLI
Employees who may need more than a few days off through available sick leave or need intermittent time off for ongoing care may consider requesting CU’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program.
Support & Processing Group
12-Week Clinical Group for UCCS Faculty & Staff
Join Justin Lincoln, PsyD and Shannon Everett, MA, LPC with the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience for a 12-week trauma support and processing group for UCCS Faculty and Staff. Each session will cover a topic and how it relates to complicated grief and resiliency: grief, trauma in the body, processing, self-care, psychological safety, mental health, healthy habits, coping skills, etc.

The Division of DEI will be hosting a healing circle in Berger Hall. This is a group space for the campus to come together in solidarity, share thoughts and emotions, and create a space to mourn and heal together.

Solidarity Walk

Location: Roaring Fork to El Pomar Plaza
We're encouraging everyone to wear UCCS gear. We will begin in front of the Roaring Fork dining hall and walk to the Mountain Lion Statue in the El Pomar plaza.
Campus shuttles will be operating to take participants from UC to Roaring Fork for those who wish to participate in the walk. Parking at UCCS on Monday will be free to all. There will be a heightened police presence on campus.
